Parish Life Ministries

Parish Life Ministries

Community is an essential part of the Christian life.  A community’s care for its members is both the foundation of and an outward sign of Christ’s mission.  These ministries answer the command of Jesus given to his disciples – “as I have done for you, you should also do.” (John 13:15) For information on any of the parish life ministries, contact one of the ministry coordinators listed below or email us.

Hospitality

This ministry organizes and facilitates various parish-wide social activities including the weekly “coffee and doughnuts” after Sunday Mass. Do you like to help people feel valued and welcomed? Does your home always seem filled with family and friends? Then this may be your ministry.

To share in the work of this ministry, contact us.

Ministry to the Sick and Homebound

This ministry visits and comforts those who cannot take part in the Eucharistic assembly due to age or illness. As Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion (EMHC) individuals take Communion on behalf of the parish to the sick and homebound. Complete training is offered at the parish. EMHCs must be fully-initiated Catholics. To arrange for a minister to visit you or a loved one, or to volunteer, contact us.

Knights of Columbus

The Knights of Columbus is, in a word, fraternity. More specifically, the Knights of Columbus offers the Catholic man leadership training through active involvement in a local unit, or council; volunteer opportunities in the parish and community; low-cost life insurance; fraternal benefits like college scholarships and student loans for himself, his wife and children; Columbia magazine; and so much more.

For information on the Knights of Columbus, contact Andy Salas at 492-8061 or visit  http://stellamaris3772.com

Lenten Fish Dinners

Held each Friday during Lent, the parish Fish Dinners are an opportunity to gather in fellowship with parishioners, friends and neighbors in beautiful McGowan Hall. The traditional fish 'n' chips dinner is served along with weekly specials. Kid friendly meals also available. Lots of hands are needed to make these dinners possible. If you enjoy an energetic environment where you can meet lots of people, this may be your niche. Contact Dan Loyer to participate in this ministry.

Educating on the Nature and Dignity of Women
